June 19, 2009 04:13 by Admin

Some patients say "I don't like dentists!". Dentists say "Do you like your teeth"

It is true that many patients have feelings toward dentists ranging from mild discomfort all the way through to actual fear. Our sydney centre is accomodated to a high standard in an effort to relieve such thoughts. The dental surgery interior is designed with a modern and fresh feel with all the comforts of a professional Sydney practise including current issues of reading material, kids activities and a tea and coffee area.

Whilst in the chair patients can acheive piece of mind in Dr Sihs 30+ years as a Sydney dentist and in the various credentials he has acumulated over a long and established career. Dr Sih is easy going, friendly and highly professional. He always explains in depth what is being done and what various dental options are available.

For all those who say that they do like dentist perhaps they should consider Dr Sih as he puts a little cheer into his dental chair.

hmmm...I still don't like visiting dentists (blame it on bad childhood experiences maybe), thanks though for making it easier Dr Sih.

I had delayed an abcess above my tooth for many years. One day a sudden impact in the area of my mouth I the abcess exploded. Looking an emergency dentist in Sydney I contacted Dr Sih at http://www.dentistbondisydney.com.au/dental-emergencies.html on a Saturday afternoon. Dr Sih understood my pain, treated me and repaired my ailment.
Cheers again Dr

My daughter, being scared, cried fiercely and kicked her dentist when she was taken to one at the age of eight.  She was then dismissed by the dentist and since then she had been trying to avoid seeing a dentist unless absolutely necessary, which means extraction.

I know its a very silly question but I am always scared to go a dentist.

How can a consumer like me paying good money will know whether that dentist is trustworthy?

I really like this blog I can ask questions anonymously without being judged.

At dentistbondisydney, no question is too silly for us because we know that people are scared of dentists and sometimes they are too nervous or initimdated to speak their minds.

In fact, your question is a very very good one. We have seen many emergency patients with toothache and we found out that their conditions were results of prior poor dental works.  Some of them had had root canal therapies which had failed as a result of non professional skills by previous dentists.  That is why Dr. Andrew Sih tries to provide a lot of information in our website to tell patients what good dentistry is.

As a general guideline, before you go to see any dentists, please check all credentials, qualifications, history and testimonials of the dentist you may want to see to determine whether this dentist does have all the qualifications and experience for the sort of work he claims he can do.  For example, if a dentist advertises himself as the Leader in any dental field, please check to see how many actual cases of this field has he performed?

Further when you see the dentist, please ask him to show you all his previous work relating to the work that you require, ask him how much experiences he has and how long he has been practising and you can decide for yourself whether you can trust him.

At dentistbondisydney, our two dentists, Dr. Andrew Sih and Dr. Terry Yuen each has over 30 years of experience in dentistry.  They have very good credentials and patients are just too happy to give their recommendations.  These testimonials include patients from 6 years of age to 80 years of age.  Some of them have dental implants, some cosmetic dental work, full mouth rehabilitation, front teeth alignment and emergency services.

I hope that above answers your question.

I had had a very bad toothache on a Sunday evening.  Fortunately I was able to find a good dentist in Bondi, Dr. Andrew Sih, who was able to take care of me.  The reason for my toothache was due to a faulty filling done by my previous dentist resulting in decay going down to the nerve.  Dr. Sih gave me an intial root canal treatment called 'pulpotomy' and my pain was completely gone.

However I was told that this was only the first stage of a root canal therapy.  I have to have two follow-up appointments to finish the root canal treatment.  Dr. Sih also told me that even after a successful root canal treatment, my tooth would be significantly weaken and I will need to have a crown to protect my tooth in the near future.

Thanks to Dr. Sih, I now feel very comfortable and relaxed going to see a dentist - Dr. Sih, who is professional, efficient, caring and friendly.  If you talk about a patient's feeling, I will have to say that I feel really good as Dr. Sih's patient.

Hi there, yes, I had a broken tooth and wanted to find an emergency dentist last week and found Dr. Andrew Sih from the internet.  I went to see him.

After the initial examination, Dr. Sih kindly said that he could help me restore the broken tooth with tooth colored materials called composite.  I asked him whether it would hurt, and he said: "Do you want to hurt?".

That really made me laugh, Dr. Sih has such an incredible sense of humour!  I must say that I felt really good not just because of his professional skills, but with the good laugh that I got from him!

a patient can have a prior negative dental experience trigger simply by the sound of a whirring drill. The quiet Air Drill removes that trigger from the equation allowing the patient to feel safe and remain relaxed.
